And it's soon to occupy one of the city's most iconic buildings.
Hold on to you beach-faring hats, people of Newcastle. This serene beachside city is about to become the birthplace of a new five-star hotel.
It goes by the name of Kingsley, a nod to Newcastle’s earlier name ‘Kingstown’ – so called in 1804. Officially opening in 2020, the Kingsley by Crystalbrook Collection will be the city’s first five-star hotel.

Taking up residency in Newcastle’s well-recognised ‘Roundhouse’ Council Administrative Centre, the hotel will see the unique structure reimagined for the contemporary, luxury traveller.
Newcastle’s Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes applauds the company’s vision “in reimagining the CAC’s brutalist architecture”.
