The Nordic airline serving up in-flight meals you'll actually want to eat

This is airline food, but not as you know it.

Pick up this airline’s menu and you might be forgiven for thinking you’ve stepped into the hottest new restaurant in town. Alas, this is in-flight cuisine – and it’s not what you’d expect.

Airline New Nordic by SAS has become known for its innovative and planet-friendly approach to feeding passengers – with its use of fresh, seasonal ingredients and limited use of packaging. Now, additional vegetarian and vegan dishes have been introduced – so customers can select from delicious plant-based dishes on board.

What’s on the menu?

Forget the ‘chicken or lamb’ offering. Now, passengers can enjoy roasted cauliflower with lentils, black beans and salads; or perhaps the dill- and horseradish-cured Hällestads mushrooms; or, how about the Slätte Gård field pea, radish, and Persula Gårds roasted turnip-rapeseed salad? There’s also golden beets, vreta yellow pea and nigella-seed-pickled onions and Fagra slätt quinoa.

In addition to its plant-based selections, SAS serves meals made with sustainable seafood, humanely raised chicken, wholesome, nutritious snacks and locally sourced ingredients.
