The nostalgic menu at this OK Motels event will conjure childhood dinner memories

CHARLTON-15

These dishes will either put you in a state of fright or delight.

If you’ve ever wanted to party like its the 1970s, it might be time you were introduced to OK Motels. On April 6, 2019, OK Motels is throwing an event that will be worth wearing polyester for. At Charlton Motel, a time capsule of 1970s glory in Victoria, OK Motels will pay homage to the hazy era that was.

Live music, 1970s cocktails and food that features the likes of long-lost loves: think curly parsley, cubed cheese, cabana and counter meals. The dinner menu has been designed by Lunch Lady’s Kate Berry and is a stroke of retro genius.

What’s on the menu?

Keens Curry Slice
Layers of brown rice and tinned salmon baked in a Keens curry gravy, topped with tasty cheese. Served with herbed soft, cold and creamy seasoned potato salad and salad greens with your choice of Paul Newman’s Creamy Ranch or Classic Vinaigrette.
Family Circle Beef Lasagne
Served with salad greens with your choice of Paul Newman’s Creamy Ranch or Classic Vinaigrette and Charlton Bakery white bread with butter to the edges.
Casserole (vegetarian)
Served with the best potato mash, salad greens with your choice of Paul Newman’s Creamy Ranch or Classic Vinaigrette, and Bakery white bread with butter to the edges.
Then, swing by for breakfast on the morning and enjoy a bloody Mary plus an Elvis Presley breakfast (French toast, bacon, peanut butter and maple syrup) – or an continental brekkie. DJ Lucky Star will be playing music to get your day started too.
