The concept is only available in Canberra right now, but set to expand to other cities soon.
Ovolo Hotels have found a way to fill the void left in the hearts (and bellies) of diners everywhere by the coronavirus social distancing restrictions.
The hotel chain has just launched their innovative Restaurant in Room: a brand new private dining concept at Ovolo Nishi in Canberra.
The private dining experience is currently only available at the one hotel in Canberra, but efforts are underway to expand it to other Ovolo properties across Australia as state governments begin to relax social distancing restrictions.
The dining concept allows diners to safely get out of the house. Two guests can savour a change of scenery in one of Ovolo Nishi’s rooms while enjoying a three or five course set menu with matching beverages by Monster Kitchen & Bar.

The Restaurant in Room private dining experience is currently available to book on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for private dining only, as well as for private dining and an overnight stay.
Prices start at $229.00 for the three course meal or $279 for three courses with matching beverages.
The Ovolo properties tapped to follow soon are Sydney’s Alibi Bar & Kitchen, which offers innovative plant-based dining, and ZA ZA TA, which is set to offer a Middle Eastern-inspired private dining experience in Brisbane.
Ovolo Group Food & Beverage Director, Vince Lombino, noted in a statement that the chain already has a view to expanding the concept to other regions.
“We are even looking to collaborate with our Creative Culinary Partner, Ian Curley from French Saloon, at Ovolo Laneways in Melbourne and even one step further working with our fellow restauranteurs to potentially do pop-up Restaurants In Room,” he said.
