Say bon voyage to long layovers.
Thanks to Qantas’ new and direct Perth-Paris route, the national carrier will help travellers slice three hours off the current fastest travel time between the two cities.
The announcement of the new, year-round route will see Qantas return to the French capital for the first time in more than nearly two decades and just in time for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and European summer.
From July 12, 2024, the 17-hour Perth-Paris flight will operate four days a week during the peak European summer with the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The service will drop to three per week from mid-August 2024.
Unfortunately, those living on the Eastern seaboard won’t benefit from direct flights, but may find transferring through a domestic airport easier and reduce overall travel time as Qantas passengers can connect flights from across Australia seamlessly, with those in Sydney able to book and fly the Perth-Paris route from Sydney with a stopover in Perth.
The Paris service will also offer customers another option for connecting to more than 70 destinations across the region, including Barcelona, Munich, Frankfurt and Athens. A “circle fare” also allows Qantas customers to fly into Paris and return to Australia from London or Rome on the one ticket.
Fares are on sale at 9am Western Standard Time (WST) starting from $1,899 from Perth and are available until 2 November unless sold out prior.
