And it will save you an hour commute to Tokyo city.

In an airline first, Qantas will fly directly from Brisbane to Haneda Airport in Tokyo, replacing its former service to Narita Airport.

Travellers who frequent Japan will be happy to hear the news as it will save them more than an hour commute into Tokyo city. Conveniently, Haneda Airport is just a short 15-minute train ride or 20-minute car ride to downtown Tokyo.

Qantas will fly its roomy Airbus A330 aircraft, which includes lie-flat beds in Business Suites, from Brisbane to Tokyo three days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The airline will also schedule flights to connect well with the rest of its domestic network.

If you were looking for a sign to head to Japan, this is it.
