Italy will soon be home to a new Six Senses Resort, with Six Senses Hotels, Resorts and Spas announcing Six Senses Antognolla: the brand’s second Italian property.

The new resort is taking shape inside the secluded palatial walls of 12th-century Castello di Antognolla, whose storied history includes a period as home to one of Perugia’s most powerful noble families, as well as a tenth century Benedictine monastery and crypt.

Nestled in the Umbrian countryside around 20 kilometres north of Perugia near the regional border with Tuscany, the lavish new property promises an idyllic backdrop of olive groves, vineyards and cypress forests for one of the world’s most exclusive spa retreats.

When Six Senses Antognolla eventually opens its doors in 2023, it will house 71 guests rooms and suites, as well as 79 residences ranging from one-and-two-bedroom apartments and villas to six-bedroom farmhouses, all of which will be available to purchase.

Guests can expect an experience that combines authentic Umbrian heritage with all the comforts and conveniences of modern living, as well as the luxuries one expects from the Six Senses brand, including an equestrian centre, 18-hole golf course and experience pavilion.

A contemporary wing will house the iconic Six Senses Spa and among the diverse wellness offerings we can expect are sleep health, nutrition and movement, and self-discovery programming.

Equally enticing is the authentic local dining, regional produce and wine experiences that will eventually be on offer, including an organic farm, culinary school, estate grown produce including herbs, olives, fruit and veggies, organic wine and a dedicated wine experience program.

Six Senses Antognolla is expected to open in 2023. Plan your flights accordingly. Stay up to date at www.sixsenses.com/en/resorts
