Just as the World’s 50 Best Restaurants are named each year, so too are the top 50 vineyards around the world. And, this year, an iconic Australian vineyard has made the top 20. Overall, vineyards from just 17 countries were included in the list.
So, what was the best vineyard in the world? Argentina’s Zuccardi Valle de Uco took out the top spot – for its state-of-the-art visitor centre, seasonal menu and (naturally) fine wines.
And, three of Australia’s wineries made the Best 50 (with one in the top 20). At number 13 was Penfolds Magill Estate, Australia; at 29, d’Arenberg, Australia; and, at, 47, Seppeltsfield Barossa, Australia snuck in to the top 50. So, when it comes to the international stage, it seems South Australia is out to impress.
