For many, the adrenaline rush of a new fine dining adventure can be enough to make one giddy with excitement, but luxury Maldives hideaway Soneva Fushi has decided to take their latest gourmet adventure to new heights, creating the world’s first zipline fine dining experience.  

The cleverly named Flying Sauces combines world-class gastronomy with the thrill of ziplining to create the ultimate bucket list dining experience. 

Diners are securely strapped into a safety harness, before taking flight along a 200-metre zipline route which is elevated up to 10 metres. Upon reaching an elevated dining platform, they enjoy an amuse bouche, refreshing shooters and other gastronomic surprises. 

The zipline delivers diners to an elevated treetop table high above the ground on the edge of the forest near Dolphin Beach, where they’re treated to a lush six-course seasonal menu prepared from the open kitchen by Chef Rasal Jayawardene, paired with a selection of over 9,000 fine wines from the property’s extensive cellar.

The six-course menu offers up some of the Maldives finest seasonal ingredients, including Hokkaido scallops carpaccio with crispy wild rice, celeriac two ways with a raisin salsa, marinated prawns with avocado puree, chorizo oil and rocket, baby leeks with brie cheese cream sauce and rosemary crumble, black cod with artichoke puree and teriyaki truffle sauce and, to finish, a plant based cheesecake with mango salsa and mixed berry compote.

The Flying Sauces zipline route takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, with each additional dining experience lasting around one hour for breakfast and high tea, and between two and three hours for dinner.

It operates during daylight hours only, and guests can choose their preferred time of day, with experiences including breakfast, high tea, and dinner with an optional wine pairing. You can also book the zipline as a standalone experience. 

Catering to a maximum of 12 guests at a time, the experience is suitable for adults and kids aged eight and up, and carries a minimum weight requirement of 25kg. 

Prices include the zipline experience and commence at USD 175++ per person breakfast, USD 180++ per person high tea, USD 350++ per person dinner only, USD 595++ per person dinner with wine pairing and USD 100++ per person zipline only.
