Air travel’s come a long way since its more turbulent beginnings, but some airlines are still much safer to fly with than others. AirlineRatings has released its ‘World’s 20 Safest Airlines’ for 2020, and you may be surprised by some of the results.

With Asia-Pacific airlines dominating the top of the list (hooray for Australian flyers!), closely followed by Middle Eastern and European carriers, we have a lot to feel good about while flying in and around Australia. Surprisingly, few US carriers made the list this year.

So, which 20 airlines made the cut this year?

So, in reassuring fashion, Australia’s Qantas has come out on top in this year’s ratings. Fun fact: the airline has never had a fatal crash in its almost 100 years of operation. And, with Virgin Australia coming in at number 10, Australian’s can rest easy when planning their travels.
