Travel back to the 1940s with this unique high tea experience in the heart of Ballarat.

The Cuthbert 939 is a beautifully restored historic restaurant tram at the Ballarat Tramway Museum that is somewhat of a hidden treasure. Decorated with yesteryear finishes like plush red velvet seats, polished wooden panelling and jacquard curtains, the carriage is like a perfectly preserved time capsule.

Now, the vintage tram will host high tea over a 1.5 hour ride along Lake Wendouree. Guests will be welcome with freshly baked scones (that are still warm) and a selection of hot and cold beverages. Settle into a dining booth to indulge in a three-tier high tea tower featuring sweet and savoury treats, all prepared in-house within 24 hours of departure, so freshness is guaranteed.

Tickets are sold by the table, which seats two or four people, not per person. A table for two costs $190 and a table for four is $360. When it comes to dietary requirements only vegetarian, gluten-free and nut-free can be accommodated.

The high tea experience aboard The Cuthbert 939 will be running from Sunday, March 15 until Sunday, September 27 from 12-2pm. For more information or to book, visit visitballarat.com.au
