Fitzroy’s unique sense of charm couldn’t be perfectly captured by interstate or international interior designers, which is why Melbourne-based firm Hecker Guthrie were called upon to curate The Standard X. An electric red revolving door reveals an open loft space with columns wrapped in macrame, modern custom furniture and antique pieces. The StandardX offers guests a choice of fun, funky and elevated rooms and suites. Located across eight floors, the new hotel is home to 125 rooms that range from the intimate Cozy King to the spacious Suite Spot, all equipped with a comfy king bed. Pops of bold blue are softened by plush and muted boucle furnishings. Making the most of its location, each room features a large window or private balcony to allow an abundance of light to filter through.

BANG is an all-day Thai concept that is led by executive chef Justin Dingle-Garciyya. Here guests can dine on bold street flavours and dishes that take full advantage of local produce, sourced from Melbourne and Victoria. Dine on Hibachi pork & octopus skewer with pinoy BBQ glaze and charred pineapple or Nam jim Blue Swimmer Crab “Pa Tong Ko” donuts. BANG is similar to Fitzroy, a modern take on street culture.

Exclusive to guests of The StandardX, perched atop of the hotel is The Roof. At this secret hideaway guests can kick back and take in panoramic views of Fitzroy and Melbourne.
