There are few things better on a chilly winter night than gathering up your buds and lovers and going to absolute town on some tasty, carby, cheesy treats. That’s exactly what you’ll get if you swing into American Express Shop Small vendor, Spring on Queen on any Thursday night during winter.

Spring on Queen Street is the newest member of the Sneakers & Jeans group (TOMA, Hadiqa, Varnish on King) and while the name may be a tribute to the blossoming new season, there’s still plenty of wintery retro fun to be had. The weekly fondue nights are all about bringing people together over a communal pot of bubbling molten cheese, which is real friendship as far as we’re concerned.

Designed to feed two to four people, the fondue experience includes a perfectly gooey pot of aromatics, herbs, aged cheddar and gruyère cheese, a rotating selection of colourful vegetable and meaty dipping bites and a glass of Mon Tout wine. 

It’s well worth booking in advance though. Spring co-owner Emmi Masten says, “We launched our Spring Fondue Nights in June, exclusive to Thursdays and they have been highly popular since, with a full house every Thursday night.”

If cheese isn’t your thing, don’t fret. The Spring team has also added chocolate fondue with marshmallows, brownies, strawberries and mini doughnut balls to the nightly menu too, so you can get your dip on any night of the week.
