Rosé, but make it fashion.
Dolce & Gabbana are fiercely proud of their native land of Italy and now they’ve chosen to honour it in a new way: by creating some very stylish designer wine.
The brand’s latest venture is an Italian-inspired rosé – named Rosa – described as an ode to Sicily.
The wine is a fruity and floral rosé created in collaboration with Sicilian winery Donnafugata, and blends two varieties unique to Sicily: Nerello Mascalese and Nocera.

Nerello Mascalese is a delicate variety known for its mineral notes and floral bouquet, which is grown on the slopes of Mount Etna. While the Nocera is an ancient varietal that hails from Contessa Entellina, adding a uniquely fruity tinge. The grapes will all come from the 2019 vintage.
D&G describe the wine as “an elegant bouquet of jasmine, enriched with delicate hints of wild strawberry, peach and bergamot.”
Naturally, just like the label’s clothing designs, the packaging is lush and impeccable. Inspired by the iconic Sicilian cart, it features a subtle blush rosé palette adorned with red, blue and white print that’s a little reminiscent of the Amalfi coast’s famous umbrellas.

Dolce & Gabbana are famous for their collaborations. The brand made headlines around the world when they teamed up with Smeg to create a range of brightly coloured home appliances, and the year before that they created a range of hand-painted refrigerators.
The rosé will be available online from Dolce & Gabbana in June, although there is no word on the price as yet.
