A beloved South Australian wine maker has landed a coveted spot on the World’s 50 Best Vineyards list for 2025.

One of South Australia’s premier vineyards – Henschke Wines in Eden Valley – has been named number 47 on the World’s 50 Best Vineyards list for 2025.

The full World’s 50 Best Vineyards list was revealed last night at a ceremony held  at Amelia Park Wines in Margaret River, WA – the first time the prestigious awards have been held in Australia.

The sixth-generation, family-run Henschke winery was the only Australian vineyard to feature in this year’s rankings.

For the Henschke family, recognition on the global stage is nothing new. Viticulturist Prue Henschke has long been regarded as a leader in her field, bringing a thoughtful, deeply rooted approach to sustainable winegrowing across the estate’s cherished sites – including the famed Hill of Grace vineyard, home to some of the country’s oldest Shiraz vines.

In 2020, Henschke was named the winner of the Outstanding Viticulturist award at the delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards, with wine expert Mike Bennie remarking: “Prue Henschke is one of Australia’s most innovative and leading viticulturists.

“She is at the forefront of regenerative, sustainable and biodynamic farming in Australia. Her work has not only elevated the quality of wine for the Henschke brand, she is also an open resource and inspiring mentor for a new generation of viticulture and farming students.”
