Bloody Shiraz Gin, we've found you a friend.
Never Never Distilling Co’s world-first Grenache gin is back for 2021, cue the fireworks.
The ruby-hued tipple is made from the McLaren Vale distillery’s Triple Juniper Gin and Grenache grapes.

The limited release product was the first-ever Grenache gin to hit the global market when Never Never Distilling Co. first released it back in May 2020. The ‘ginache’ went on to sell out its allocation in less than two months.
Thankfully, Never Never recently secured over 10 tonnes of local McLaren Vale Grenache fruit with which to create a 2021 release.

The 2021 iteration of the ‘ginache’ is said to reveal rose petals, cinnamon and fresh raspberries on the nose, followed by strawberry coulis, vanilla, Redskins, and cranberries on the palate. The tipple finishes long and dry, with lingering notes of coriander, juniper, and sour cherry.

“This gin bursts with red fruit character and makes a really yummy gin and tonic,” says Never Never Head Distiller, Tim Boast. “The spice and bright citrus of our gin works wonderfully with the jammy raspberry brightness of the Grenache flavour.”
The colour of the gin is also quite unique, changing from a deep crimson to a bright watermelon pink when mixed.

Just like most gins that use grapes to flavour the base, the colour and flavour of the gin will change over time, says Never Never brand director, Sean Baxter. “We definitely recommend drinking this one while it’s fresh and the fruit character is at its most vibrant. Over time the colour will deepen and the flavours will become more earthy,” he adds.
Never Never Distilling Co’s limited edition Ginache Dark Series (ABV 38%) is now on sale. The tipple is priced at $70 for 500ml. Snag your bottle at neverneverdistilling.com.au
