A free beer drive-thru is coming to Sydney (but there’s a catch)

Drivers travelling down Princes Hwy this September 11 will be able to pull over at the country’s first beer drive-thru, and scull a roadie in celebration of Heineken 0.0, the brand’s new booze-free brew.

Australian TV presenter Scott Tweedie from Channel 10’s The Loop will be on hand throughout the day, passing out free frothies to anyone interested in sinking a few.

It’s one of many alcohol-free offerings to hit the drinks market this year, which started with Lyre’s non-alcoholic spirit range, followed by The Duchess gin-less G&Ts, not to mention a whole new category of alcohol-free wines.

Heineken 0.0 is made from natural beer ingredients – water, malted barley and hops – which are twice brewed and fermented to produce a refreshing lager with fruity characteristics and slight malty notes.

The pop-up pit stop will take place 9am – 5:30pm on September 11 at 886-896 Princes Highway, Tempe, next to Harry’s Cafe de Wheels. If you can’t wait until then, you can also swing by Dan Murphy’s and pick yourself up a case of Heineken 0.0 for $41.99.
