Breakfast just got complicated.

A Kellogg’s Cornflakes-infused beer has just hit the market, taking away some of the shame of drinking before midday.

Created by Kellogg’s with Botany brewer, One Drop Brewing Co, the limited-edition Nitro Milkshake IPA is made a bit like a bowl of cereal, starting with a hefty pour of Corn Flakes, followed by milky lactose, fresh fruits and vanilla. The taste is said to be sweet, fruity and creamy, with ripe notes of strawberry, passionfruit, coconut and mango, backed up by a tropical bitterness.

Being a nitro brew, drinkers are advised to shake the can three times before opening, which helps to create a creamy body and foamy head.

Breakfast time.

Nick Calder, head brewer of One Drop Brewing Co. said: “We’ve seen the craft beer market grow exponentially the past few years and we wanted to bring a fresh take to the scene. Using one of Kellogg’s best-selling cereals to produce a trendy Nitro Milkshake IPA was an amazing opportunity to create something different.”

The new beer joins a Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Sour Ale, made in collaboration with Hallertau brewery, which launched in New Zealand last year.

Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Nitro Milkshake IPA is available on tap at One Drop Brewing Co in Botany and at select craft beer venues, with prices starting from $9. For more info, head to kelloggs.com.au/en_AU/collaborations.
