A pub visit with no beer?

Beer

No problem. We're there for the awesome pub grub.

Everyone knows Aussies love a beer – but we also love to eat while we drink. In fact, new research from Roy Morgan shows that most of our pub visits now involve a meal as well as a drink – and is it any wonder, given the excellent state of pub food in this country?

In South Australia, 54 per cent of people (the highest across the country) had been to a pub for food and a bevvy in the past three months, compared to 19 per cent who only went for a drink. Overall, 43 per cent of Australians have visited their local for a counter meal and drink, whereas 20 per cent went solely to imbibe.

It’s a timely reminder to the pubs out there who haven’t yet got the memo that schnitzel is out and Szechuan is in.
