What a corker.
It’s one of the most prestigious wine clubs in the world, and it’s coming to Australia. Last year, it was announced that 67 Pall Mall, a London-born private members club for wine lovers, has selected Melbourne for its first Southern Hemisphere club.
It joins the exisiting clubs in St James’s, London, Singapore and Swiss ski village Verbier. The Melbourne 67 Pall Mall, opening next year above Parliament Station, joins two more clubs being revealed in Bordeaux and Beaune this year.

Cementing their local credentials before launch, 67 Pall Mall has just announced respected restaurateurs, chef Martin Benn and front-of-house savant Vicki Wild, as Managing Culinary Partners, overseeing the restaurants and bars inside the four-storey Spring Street club. Wild and Benn will have 5,000-odd labels from 42 nations to complement in their food and wine pairings, showcasing the buying power of one of the most exclusive private wine clubs in the world.
It will mark the largest Melbourne venture for the duo since their much publicised partnership (and departure) from Society. At the time, Benn described his decision to depart the big-ticket fine dining venue as “stepping left”.
“I’m looking at different business opportunities and openings that use that fine dining level in a new category,” he said.
The private member experience is certainly a newer category for the Australian market, and 67 Pall Mall’s respected training programs (which includes WSET qualifications for staff) will align with Benn and Wild’s interest in mentorship.

What is 67 Pall Mall?
The first 67 Pall Mall opened ten years ago, in December 2015, when wine collector and banker Grant Ashton had the idea to create a members club where he could share his private collection with fellow wine obsessives. The London branch now has sister clubs in Switzerland and Singapore, with Melbourne being the first Australian location and a further two opening in legendary French wine regions this year.
How much does membership to 67 Pall Mall cost?
If you’d like to sample Benn and Wild’s menu, it will cost you a membership. The upshot is global access to all 67 Pall Mall clubs worldwide. Sign-ups for membership to 67 Pall Mall Melbourne opened last year, and are filling fast. Pre-opening membership will set you back $2,300 a year, with a $1,500 joining fee. After opening, that leaps to $4,500 (plus a $3,500 joining fee).
For young wine aficionados, the under 30 pre-opening rate is $1,500, with no joining fee.
When does 67 Pall Mall open?
An initial launch date of spring 2025 has been updated to 2026. Watch this space for a firm date.

What will be on the menu?
With a wine list pouring 1,000 wines by the glass, it will take a lifetime to work your way through the 67 Pall Mall Melbourne wine list. If you need to change speeds, there will also be a whisky cocktail bar. The menu by Benn and Wild will reference the club’s global locations, while showing off the best of Australia as the couple did at their beloved Sydney restaurant Sepia, and later in their famous stint at Society.
