It’s not your fault you love drinking so much

It's your brain's

We’ve all been there – you go out for a drink with mates and swear you’re just staying for one. You’ve gotta go home. You have sh*t to do. But then one turns into ten and before you know it, you’re holding a kebab in one hand and your shoes in another.

Turns out drinking “just one more” isn’t your fault – it’s your brain’s. A new study, published by the Journal of Neuroscience, shows that alcohol actually alters the structure and function of the neurons in the area of your brain responsible for rewards and motivation. So when you’re sipping on your G&T, the shape of your neurons actually transforms, encouraging you to order one more.

See? Totally not your fault.
