Prosecco Pong: the new game you need to know about

download-1

It's the drinking game that's sweeping Europe.

Many an adult has taken part in a game of beer pong, and for some it is a rite of passage into the world of drinking games. Although the origin of the game is somewhat debated, it is said to have started at an American university during the ’60s. For those who have never experienced a round, players take turns throwing a small plastic ball into cups of beer at opposite ends of a table, winning by landing the ball in all their opponent’s cups. The key element of the game being that each cup you lose, you have to drink its contents. But it has been brought to our attention that beer isn’t the only drink of choice when it comes to this boozy sport.

Introducing Prosecco Pong: a fizzier and, if at all possible, classier version of the original party favourite. The equipment required to play traditionally favours sticky red plastic cups and a ping-pong ball stolen from the family set, but now an official Prosecco Pong set has been brought to life by UK brand Talking Tables.

For 15 pounds ($25), 12 plastic prosecco glasses replace beer cups along with hot pink balls, which are easy to spot if playing with minimal lighting. Unfortunately the key player – Prosecco – is missing from the set, so you’ll have to purchase your own bottle(s) of bubbly.
