Just in time for your National Rum Day cocktails.
Queensland rum Substation No. 41 has been named rum of the year at the London Spirits Competition, gathering an impressive 96 points. Even better? You can snag a bottle for just $42 bucks.
The Queensland dark rum, which spent two years in barrel, is said to have great depth, with vanilla and toffee-like notes that develop into deeper fruitcake flavours.
Inspired by (and named for) the Substation No. 41 Rum Bar at Brisbane’s Breakfast Creek Hotel – which is said to be one of the biggest in the world, offering over 500 varieties from all around the world – the unique recipe combines expertise from several the bar’s artisans for the first time.
It’s the second Queensland rum to win a global award recently, Saleyards Distillery’s Capricorn Spiced Rum was named the world’s best spiced rum earlier this year.
Substation No. 41 Rum is available at Dan Murphy’s and BWS for $42.00.
