Archie Rose meets Tayim for a party in The Rocks.
With their liberal use of aromatic spice and herbal blends, Middle Eastern cuisine and gin make fine bedfellows.
Which means the upcoming collaboration between Sydney’s Tayim restaurant and the city’s gin pioneers, Archie Rose, should be a match made in heaven.
The month-long partnership launches on Thursday April 18, when the highly awarded micro distillery, based in Rosebery, heads to Tayim in the heart of Sydney’s Rocks entertaining precinct for a series of special evenings.
Following the Thursday launch, Archie Rose brand ambassador Lachie Beange and the distillery team will join the Tayim team on Friday April 26, Friday May 3 and Friday May 10, talking all things Archie Rose and roaming the restaurant and bar; you’re invited to join them amid Tayim’s gorgeous sandstone surrounds to sample their gins and enjoy limited-edition cocktails curated by the bar team at Tayim.
Of course, all this cracking gin needs some great food to accompany it, and Tayim head chef Ran Kimelfeld has stepped up, incorporating Archie Rose’s award-winning gins into dishes including cured salmon with gin-compressed cucumber, green chilli and mint; NY deli-style chopped liver with challah bread and gin pickled onions; smoky eggplant and goat’s cheese croquets with gin and herb aioli; and slow-cooked lamb spare ribs with a date and gin glaze.
Says Kimelfeld: “We’re excited to be working on this month-long collab with such a renowned distillery as Archie Rose. We’ll be using their award-winning gins to infuse our Middle Eastern dishes, and creating exclusive menu items for the bar which will complement the special Archie Rose cocktails.”
