Hug a Melburnian today.
The best coffee shops in the world have been announced, and in a move that will no doubt shake each and every Melburnian to their latte-loving core, a Sydney cafe has been named number one.
Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters, which has its flagship cafe in Sydney’s Chippendale, is officially the best coffee shop in the world. This is according to the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops global ranking, which is based on both public voting and evaluations by a panel of specialty coffee experts and industry professionals.
Evaluation criteria ranges from coffee quality and barista expertise to customer service, innovation, sustainability, ambience and food and pastry quality. The rankings were announced at the inaugural World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops Gala, held at the Madrid Coffee Festival in Spain on Wednesday, February 19.
