It's the most wonderful time of the year.
Coffee lovers everywhere eagerly await the release of the Starbucks seasonal beverages each year, but perhaps the most hotly anticipated of them all is the ever-popular Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Well, cue the fireworks, because Starbucks’ iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte is back in Australia as of this week, August 24th.
Equally exciting is the fact that the coffee chain’s much lower calorie Pumpkin Spice Cream Cold Brew has finally landed down under too, to the joy of health conscious java lovers everywhere.
Although Starbucks launched its iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte back in 2003, the Pumpkin Spice Cream Cold Brew (or PCCB for short) only launched in the United States in 2019, and was a new addition to Australian Starbucks menus in 2020.

The new cold brew flavour combines classic cold brew coffee with vanilla syrup, a creamy pumpkin spice-flavoured topping –– which gradually swirls down into the cold brew –– and an incredibly moreish crunchy pumpkin spice topping.
The lower sugar, lower carb, lower calorie option is ideal for those embracing the keto and low-carb lifestyle.

But here’s the real news: a tall sized Pumpkin Spice Cream Cold Brew only contains around 140 calories, 18 grams of carbohydrates, 17 grams of sugar and 7 grams of fat, according to Starbucks.
The grande size contains 250 calories, 31 grams of carbs (of which 31 grams is sugars), 3 grams of protein and 12 grams of fat, according to the chain.

That’s a significant improvement on the Pumpkin Spice Latte, which will set you back nearly double the calories for a tall size. It contains 300 calories, 40 grams of carbs (of which 39 grams is sugars), 11 grams of fat and 11 grams of protein.
And it’s a whopping improvement on the Pumpkin Spice Frappucino, the grande size for which contains 420 calories, 67 grams of carbs, 66 grams of sugar, 6 grams of protein and 14 grams of fat.
Whether you love or loathe the sweet and spicy hit of a PSL or PSF, there’s no denying that it has made an indelible mark on coffee culture around the world. Will the PCCB be as beloved as its predecessors? Only time will tell.
