Gin-gle bells indeed.
In the depths of winter, Christmas in July is a little bit of joy to warm your cockles – plum pudding swimming in brandy sauce, mulled wine and spiked eggnog. See the pattern?
This is a problem when it coincides with Dry July.
Luckily, the growing sober-curious movement means these two events don’t need to be mutually exclusive anymore, thanks to an alcohol-free advent calendar.
You get the thrill of opening a little present every day, and the taste of a cocktail, without the booze. Plus, you don’t have to pay for a Dry July Golden Ticket.
The limited edition Yes You Can Drinks advent calendar includes 32 full size 250ml cans. As well as their core flavours – spritz, dark and stormy and G&T – you get first access to a new, yet to be released range, featuring native ingredients such as Davidson plum and lemon myrtle.

Yes You Can Drinks was founded by Olympic water polo player Tyler Martin, who couldn’t afford the hangovers while training but wanted to feel like he was having a drink.
“The fastest growing segment of non or mindful drinkers are Millennials and Gen Z, and we didn’t see any brands in the non-alcoholic space who were talking directly to them,” he says. “We were the market, and we were being ignored”.
He worked with a mixologist to create a range of premium cocktails, then engaged food scientists to reverse-engineer the drinks to remove the alcohol but keep the flavour, warmth and mouthfeel you expect from a boozy beverage.
Clearly, Martin is onto something. Yes You Can won a slew of awards, including a gold medal for the ‘No & Low’ category, at The London Spirits Competition.
Its signature spritz is all about zesty orange, with rhubarb and herbal scents. A ginger-forward dark and stormy has a smoky undertone that’s cut through with a dash of lime, and the familiar woody bitterness of juniper in the G&T will make you forget it doesn’t actually contain gin.
The limited edition Yes You Can Drinks advent calendar is available to purchase at yesyoucandrinks.com for $115.
