We suspected as much.
There may be a reason that we’re all so obsessed with gin: it turns out gin drinkers are more likely to feel energetic, confident and sexy, according to a study published in BMJ Open Medical Journal.
Researchers analysed data from 30,000 drinkers from 21 countries, aged 18 to 34, and they found some surprising commonalities that lend credence to the theory that we experience different types of intoxication, depending on which type of alcohol we consume.
The study subjects were asked to attribute different positive and negative emotions to different types of alcohol.

Spirits as a whole, were more likely to be associated with positive emotions like feeling “energetic” and “confident”, but they were also more likely to generate feelings of aggression in both men and women.

Almost 60% of spirit drinkers said they associated these drinks with feelings of energy and confidence, and more than 40% associated the spirit with feeling sexy.

The study is only observational, so it’s difficult to draw any clear conclusions about cause and effect, however, it does offer an interesting insight into why people choose particular alcoholic drinks, and how they feel as a result.
So there you have it. Gin drinkers are sexier. It’s a scientific fact. (Kind of.)
