*Squeals*
New Zealand winery Squealing Pig has just launched a ruby-hued gin made with a generous splash of wine.
The new wine-washed spirit is made from an infusion of 12 botanicals including lavender blossoms, rosemary, fennel, citrus, peppermint and cardamom, along with Squealing Pig Pinot Noir.
The spirit is said to be dry and refreshing with subtle juniper, bright citrus flavours and earthy notes of cinnamon and clove, with hints of red berry from coming through from the vino.
Sip it straight or use it to create a G&T, garnished with orange slices and fresh mint.
If you’re a fan of the wine-gin category, make sure you also try Squealing Pig’s Rose Gin, Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin and Never Never Distilling Co.’s Grenache Gin.
Squealing Pig Pinot Noir Gin is priced at $55 for a 700ml bottle from Vintage Cellars and selected bottle stores nationwide.
