Say goodbye to a dusty Sunday.
A couple of drinks may seem like a great idea at the time, that is until the accompanying hangover hits. But now there is a new tipple on the market that promises to prevent any headaches caused by drinking. It comes courtesy of supermarket chain Lidl, which is launching a bottle of prosecco that promises to a hangover-free drinking experience.
The Organic Prosecco Spumante will be sold at only £7.99 and already has consumers clamouring for a bottle. How exactly does the drink avoid causing any feelings of being dusty? Lidl’s master of wine Richard Bampfield explains it comes down to the drink being organic. The typical sulphate preservatives present in typical prosecco are the ingredients responsible for a painful day after.
“We’ve all had that shocking wine hangover. This is sometimes attributed to the sulphite preservatives used in wine to keep them fresher for longer. So if you don’t react well to sulphites you could be saying good riddance to hangovers with Lidl’s Organic Prosecco Spumante,” explains Bampfield.
As an added bonus, Lidl’s prosecco is also prepared with organic grapes, free from chemical fertiliser, herbicide, pesticide and insecticides.
Lidl’s prosecco is due to go on sale in the UK on October 12, which hopefully means Australians will be able to get their hands on a bottle down the track. But for those who miss out this round, there is a second batch confirmed to hit shelves on November 30.
