Set in the breathtakingly beautiful Freycinet National Park in Tasmania, ultra-luxurious Saffire hotel is holding its first sparkling wine weekend, and it’s set to be very special indeed.
Hosted by 2016 International Wine Communicator Of The Year Tyson Stelzer, the incredible two-night event will see a slew of Tassie’s fantastic wine producers descend on the hotel for a weekend of delicious food and bubbles.
Kicking off on Friday 9 June, spend the first afternoon getting settled into your gorgeous suite after a casual lunch in the restaurant. Or if you’re ready to immerse yourself into the incredible range of activities, perhaps book in to join the Wineglass Bay lookout walk or one of the many other walks on offer.
That evening, sip on Ruinart champagne while rubbing shoulders with the masters behind esteemed labels like Jansz, House of Arras and Frogmore Creek as they share a range of wines from their cellars with a cocktail-style dinner specially created by Saffire chefs Hugh Whitehouse and Todd Adams.
Spend Saturday morning relaxing over breakfast, or hop onto one of the activities – our pick is heading out to Freycinet’s working marine oyster farm to enjoy some of the freshest oysters you’ll ever eat.
Following lunch don your student hat in a masterclass hosted by Tyson, where you’ll have the chance to compare champagne from the likes of Krug and Dom Perignon with some of Tasmania’s leading sparkling wines.
Concluding the day is a spectacular degustation dinner of course beautifully complemented by wonderful champagnes and wines from Tasmania and beyond.
