Wine + Champagne

One of Australia’s favourite designers has just created a rosé

Handpicked Wine x Romance Was Born

Drinking has never been so chic.

Fashion and food don’t typically tend to partner well, but fashion and wine, well that’s another story. Romance Was Born, the much-loved design duo with Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales at the helm, has recently turned its hand to vino in collaboration with Sydney cellar door Handpicked Wines. The result is the Handpicked Wines x Romance Was Born Rosé, straight from the Yarra Valley.

“There is something about the Handpicked Wines cellar door and their philosophy and approach to making wine we can really relate too. At the core of a well-designed and tastefully curated experience is a quality Australian-made product and that parallels what we aim to achieve at RWB,” explains Romance Was Born of their decision to partner with the Chippendale wine experts.

Rosé was an easy choice for the duo. “Rose suggests a feeling of fun and flirtation, much like our clothing we think it’s not too serious, and it’s something for all occasions’, they explain. “Rose for us suggests romance and celebration.”

But there’s another high profile Australian creative who is also involved in the collaboration – Archibald Prize-winning artist Del Kathryn Barton. The long-time friend of Anna and Luke has designed the special label that covers the limited-edition rosé, which currently available from the Handpicked Cellar Door in Chippendale.
