The team at Taylors Wines have launched a new range of wines, called Taylor Made.
Fresh from helping us drink our wine at the right temperature with the launch of their Optimum Drinking Temperature Sensor technology comes the latest launch from Taylors Wines – their Taylor Made range.
delicious. joined Taylors managing director Mitchell Taylor – and a host of other wine and food lovers – at Sydney’s Mecca Alexandria for the launch of the three-wine range: a malbec, the South Australian winery’s first, a pinot noir rosé, and a chardonnay.
As well as enjoying the three newcomers in cocktails designed by ace Porteno barman Sean Bosman to show off their flavour profile, we had a chance to drink the wines in their natural state and hear all about them.
While malbec is most often associated with Argentina, the 2016 Taylor Made Malbec has enjoyed perfect growing conditions in SA’s Clare Valley. Look for dark fruit and plum notes, combined with chocolate and spice, and pair it with sharp cheese or rich meat dishes.
The 2016 Taylor Made Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir Rosé has been made in the Provence style, and promises a crisp, elegant and dry drinking experience. Taylors describes it as showcasing strawberry fruit flavours alongside a subtle mineral and talc character. We’d suggest enjoying it with an antipasto platter. Or, if the weather permits, using it as the base for a frosé.
Rounding out the trio is the 2016 Taylor Made Chardonnay, with French oak barrels producing subtle nut characters that accompany flavours of fresh citrus and stone fruits. Great with white meat dishes.
Mitchell Taylor, the third generation of the Taylor family to make wine, describes the new range as a way to explore different varieties and styles while still showcasing his family’s dedication to making wines people love.
Wines in the Taylor Made range have an RRP of $28. Look out for them at selected bars, restaurants and independent liquor stores, or online at taylormadewines.com.au
