It's round two for Wet Dreams.
There’s no longer a minority of drinkers intrigued by the natural when it comes to wine, but rather it seems to be more the majority. The natural wine movement has swept Australia, infiltrating some of the biggest bars and restaurants. Leading the pack when it comes to the funkier side of drinking would have to be The Dolphin in Surry Hills. Home to a vast array of orange vino and, now, one of the country’s best natural wine-themed festivals.
Earlier this year, the Sydney favourite hosted Wet Dreams, an event dedicated to the experimental end of the wine world. Created by by Joel Amos (DRNKS), James Hird, Maurice Terzini and Monty Koludovic (The Dolphin Hotel, Da Orazio Pizza + Porchetta), the event proved so popular it’s now back for round two.

Of course, Wet Dreams #2 is bigger and better than the original. To be held on December 2 at The Dolphin, the event will be split into two separate showings for maximum effect. Session one will commence from 12.00pm and be held till 2.00pm. This one’s for the ‘wine geeks’ or those serious about their wine, where tickets will be available for $30 and will offer guests the chance for a decent chat with producers.
Session two has more of a party presence. The session for ‘wine freaks’ will be held between 3.00-7.00pm, across both levels of the venue, from Wine Room to Public Bar. The best part though? “There’s also going to be a lot more wine,” the festival has promised. 40 producers will man stalls with (free) taste testing for all. Think drops from Ochota Barrels, Basket Range, Borachio, Jilly, Latta Vino, Mallaluka and more, with tickets available for $50 a piece.
Tickets to Wet Dreams #2 are currently available online.
