83c for a pinot grigio? Yes please!
Remember when you could get a glass of wine for 83c? We can’t either, but it sure beats paying $17 everywhere else.
If you don’t think you can afford a big night out, just wait until you see the prices at Aldi’s new wine bar.

Launching in the Sydney CBD this July, The Trophy Room will offer a selection of “prestigious” gins, wines and cheeses and the most you’ll pay is $4.41.
For the price of your ticket ($4.41), you will get a gin cocktail to start, a curated tasting of Aldi wines, plus a cheese platter made from the discount supermarket’s finest fromages.
When you break down the prices, that translates to just 83c for a Pinot Grigio, with the most expensive glass on the menu, a Pinot Noir from Otago in New Zealand, costing just $2.49. As for cheese, you’ll be able to get your hands on a triple cream brie for just 56c for a single serve, and a smooth blue cheese for 62c.

Jason Bowyer, ALDI Wine Expert and Buying Director says, “The Trophy Room is a first for ALDI Australia, demonstrating that a fine wine and dining experience doesn’t have to dent your wallet. And what’s even better, you can replicate the exact experience at home.
“The reality is everyone can have a wine rack and cheese drawer worthy of the title the ‘Trophy Room’ if they shop the products on offer at ALDI. The value in the range is undisputable, and I’m excited that we can offer customers this experience, whether that be in our new pop-up bar or in their everyday shop.”

Aussies who fancy a seat at the bar will have to be quick as The Trophy Room is open for only two nights, July 15-16. To select a sitting and purchase tickets, click here.
