Heading to Byron for your summer holidays? You'll want to make a booking now.
David Moyle, formerly of Longsong and Franklin fame, has made the sea change to Byron Bay, where he will work across renowned local restaurants Harvest, Barrio and Sparrow Coffee as the new Chief of Food.
In the newly created position, Moyle will work closely with the restaurant chefs and suppliers to develop and build up the existing food program. “It’s just nice to be able to apply your knowledge and work with such a professional team – there are a lot of really passionate people up here,” Moyle said.

Locals may remember Moyle from his time at the Pacific Dining Room back in 2010. However, it was at his own restaurant, Franklin in Hobart, where the chef really made his name, winning over diners and critics alike with his simple, honest fare. “Restraint is something I find really interesting – it’s not the flash, it’s the foundations,” he said.
Barrio and Harvest co-owner Tristan Grier said: “We’re excited to have Dave on board as we build our brands and our concepts, while expanding the offering for our local community and visitors to the area. We plan to ease into the changes, ensuring everything is in flow. We look forward to sharing our new direction with you soon.”
