Planning a kid's birthday party is about to get a whole lot easier.

Calling all children with a birthday! Go get your parents, inform them that you’re going to Chuck E. Cheese for your party and hold your breath until they agree!

In partnership with Royale Hospitality Group, US mega-chain (and the subject of every kid’s movie from the 80s) Chuck E. Cheese is coming Down Under.

The company has signed a master franchise partnership agreement with the Royale Hospitality Group, the WA-based hospo group behind Perth arcade Planet Royale, as well as Outback Jack’s and Milky Lane. The deal gives exclusive rights to Royale to run and franchise Chuck E Cheese in the Australian market.

The kid-centric restaurant group, founded in 1977 in Texas, is famous for its arcade-style games, child-friendly food like pizza and chicken wings, interactive play equipment and giant mouse mascot.

“This is a momentous step towards establishing Chuck E. Cheese as the premier destination for families seeking an unparalleled kid-centric entertainment and dining experience,” said Ray Strauss, MD of Royale Hospitality Group.

“We are thrilled to bring the magic of Chuck E. Cheese to Australia and to collaborate with the Royale Hospitality Group, a partner that shares our commitment to delivering exceptional family experiences,” said Chuck E. Cheese International COO Mario Centola.

If American sit-coms are to be believed, we can look forward to ball pits, burgers and barf as dozens of children go absolutely nuts on the jungle gym. Details at the time of writing are slim, with locations and arrival dates still unconfirmed.

Chuck E. Cheese has been the go-to for kid’s birthday parties in the US for nearly 50 years, and now it’s time for Australia to have a turn.
