The mini-precinct will launch later this year.

Huge news from the team behind Porteno and the Continental Deli as they prepare to launch not one, not two, but three new venues in Newtown.

Acting as satellite venues, the precinct of sorts will occupy adjacent buildings to the Continental on Australia Street in Sydney’s Inner West.

The first of the three new venues is Flora – a plant based, all day dining venue championing local produce, and coffee by former neighbours 212 Blu. Natural wine and Australian spirits will make up the drinks list.

Next door will be Mister Grosso – a seafood bar showcasing all the fruits of the sea with drinks fit for a fisherman. We’re hoping there’s going to be rum in these here waters.

Finally, occupying the former 212 Blu space comes Osteria Mucca. Family recipes, handmade pasta, charcoal meats and rare small production wines from cult Italian producers will be the stars of the show here.

It’s not the first time that the Porteno crew has made a mini precinct in Sydney. Holt Street in Surry Hills is the first spiritual home of the restaurant group, with Porteno HQ, Wyno x Bodega, Humble Bakery and Bastardo all occupying a single block in the heart of the dining district.

Flora, Mister Grosso and Osteria Mucca are set to open later this year, adding some seriously cool new bites to the Australia Street scene.
