It’s the news you’ve been waiting for. Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group has announced that it will open its first Five Guys store in Penrith, Sydney mid this year.

The cult US burger chain is famous for its freshly minced beef patties and its Cajun-spiced fries, which are made using fresh potatoes not frozen chips.

The new fast-food restaurant will take over a 500sqm site next door to the Panthers League Clubs, between a McDonalds and KFC on Mulgoa road.

Robby Andronikos, Five Guys Brand Operations Manager said: “This exciting new restaurant will bring with it fantastic job opportunities in coming weeks for experienced restaurant managers and leaders. As well as high energy hospitality individuals looking to start a career with an expanding business that puts their people first.”

The first store was originally slated to open in the Sydney CBD, however, coronavirus concerns pushed their plans out West. However, the Sydney CBD is still on the cards for an early site, with Seagrass currently pursuing several premium locations in the city around the Circular Quay, Darling Harbour and Broadway corridor.

Construction will begin on the new Penrith store over the next few weeks, with the restaurant slated to open mid-year.

Melbourne and Brisbane are also expected to get a taste of Five Guys this year, with 20 stores planned nationwide.
