Brought to us by the team behind Small Town Provisions (and previously Small Town Food + Wine) and St. Isidore, Delly’s maintains the same DNA as Small Town and St. Isidore but with a more family-friendly, grab-and-go kind of vibe.

Owners Alex Delly and Jo Thomas have consistently grown around their restaurants as their family has grown (morphing from an ambitious young couple to seasoned hospitality veterans raising three young kids), moving from fine dining to casual wine bar, and now, well, really good sandwiches.

But don’t be fooled, just because the white tablecloths are gone doesn’t mean there’s any skimping on quality at Delly’s. Beef and gravy sandos are of the ethical, slow-grown organic cow types, topped with jus that takes three days to make.

Tuna melts – we know and love – are made here with tuna caught in nearby waters, and all the pickles on your LP’s mortadella, sopressa and fried egg sandwiches are made in-house with love by Jo.

The bread itself is sourced from nearby specialist bakery, Lagom where it is made fresh, every day.

The goodness doesn’t stop with the sandwiches though. The Delly family have a few pastry tricks up their sleeves too, and it’s worth saving space for pillowy cherry jam doughnuts or their Italian cousins, the white chocolate and hazelnut cream stuffed maritozzi. Wash it down with a no-frills filter coffee, courtesy of Sydney favourite, Supreme then roll on down to the beach.
