It will be the first Asian restaurant for the group.
The Bentley Group is expanding yet again, with the launch of a new contemporary Asian restaurant on the corner of King and Clarence Street in the Sydney CBD.
Following on from Brasserie 1930, King Clarence will be the second new restaurant for the group this year, bringing the grand total to six venues.
King Clarence will be the first in the staple to showcase Asian cuisine, with the restaurant menu crossing between China, Korea and Japan. Diners can expect seafood tanks for live seafood and a custom-built grill for an authentic BBQ experience.
Co-owner and chef Brent Savage said: “Nick and I love eating Asian food and are really looking forward to applying the Bentley Group ideas and philosophies to this style of food. We want King Clarence to be fun, loud, and busy.”
The Bentley Group is renowned for its outstanding wine programs, and it will be no different at King Clarence. The drinks list will balance new and old world wines, with a focus on varietals that complement Asian cuisine. The same will apply to the cocktail menu, which will focus on Asian-inspired cocktails with a twist.
Co-owner and sommelier Hildebrandt said: “This is new and exciting territory for us. We think the dining experience at King Clarence will appeal to all, whether it be a celebration, a corporate lunch or a late-night snack.”
The interiors will be designed by long-time creative collaborator Pascale Gomes-McNabb, who is behind the striking fit-outs at Bentley, Monopole, Yellow and Cirrus. Pascale will work alongside local architects, Jasmax, to create a warm space with an industrial yet comfortable feel.
King Clarence is set to open in October 2023. Stay tuned for more details.
