This Vietnamese cafe is selling DIY banh mi kits so you can build-your-own baguette at home

Banh Mi 1

Ready to roll?

Few lunches pack a punch quite like a fresh banh mi roll, but assembling your own at home can be hard work and rarely will you get the same crispy, crunchy results as your local Vietnamese bakery.

Thankfully, you don’t have to give up your banh mi habit just yet. Lit Canteen in Alexandria is now selling dedicated DIY Vietnamese banh mi kits filled with everything you need to build-your-own baguette at home.

The kits come stocked with a range of fillings, including barbecue pork, Vietnamese ham, chicken, pickles, radishes, cucumber, shallots, coriander, pâté, soy sauce and chilli mayo, with enough ingredients to make three banh mi rolls and one banh mi croissant at home.

There’s also a vegetarian version that includes panko-crumbed mushrooms and tofu so no one has to miss out.

Each kit is priced at $45 and available to order via Bopple with pick-up at Lit Cafe, 11 Mitchell Rd, Alexandria NSW or get it delivered to your door (within 25km of the store).
