Challenge accepted: Reynold has released the recipe for his golden snitch dessert

The Snitch.

It only has 8 components and 32 steps, you’ll be fine.

If you find soufflés a cinch and tiramisu just a little too easy, we’ve found your next baking challenge. MasterChef Season 12 contestant Reynold Poernomo has just released the recipe for his Harry Potter-inspired dessert, The Snitch.

The dessert, which featured on Tuesday night’s episode of MasterChef, was called one of the best dishes ever to be cooked in the MasterChef kitchen. It also won its creator immunity from this week’s elimination challenge and an automatic spot in the top four.

If you feel like giving it a whirl, the recipe has eight components  (brown butter mousse, tonka bean caramel, honey feather tuilles, roasted milk chocolate ganache, chocolate coating, pear yuzu sorbet, yoghurt snow, caramelised white chocolate crumble) and 32 gruelling steps. Reynold managed to pull it off in 90 minutes, but we suggest clearing your schedule for the weekend before you start tempering your chocolate. Also worth noting, the recipe uses a few ingredients that you might not have in your pantry (unless you’re Reynold), from tonka beans to gold lustre powder, yuzu juice, citric acid and good old tapioca maltodextrin. Oh, and you’ll need some liquid nitrogen, too. And we hope you’re good at art.

Find the recipe for The Snitch here, you’ll also find recipes on the 10 Play site for Reynold’s Mushroom, Moss and Down the Rabbit Hole desserts, why not try them all.
