McDonald’s is finally beefing up its chicken menu. Up until now, chicken burger fans have been by-passing the Maccas Drive-Thru for better options around town such as KFC, Nandos, Oporto, Frangos, El Jannah’s, and that unnamed shop on the highway.

But from today, that could all change. The fast-food giant has just launched four new permanent chicken items, and it’s about clucking time. Beyond the boring old McChicken, you can now get your hands on a McSpicy burger, Parmi burger, Chicken Salt Shaker Fries and Chicken McPieces.

Inspired by the classic pub counter meal, the new Parmi burger will be made from a crispy chicken patty, topped with bacon, lettuce, cheese, tomato sauce and a melty Parmigiana cheese sauce on a seedless bun. Get a side of Chicken Salt Shaker Fries and you’ll never look back.

Also in the range, you’ll find a McSpicy, which is basically a Portuguese chilli chicken burger, and the Chicken McPieces, which is a popcorn chicken.

The new chicken menu is now available from McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, from 10:30am.
