Gordon Ramsay will team up with Matt Moran for the exclusive dining experience. Here's how to get tickets.

Forget Kitchen Nightmares, this is what kitchen dreams are made of. Acclaimed chef and reality TV megastar Gordon Ramsay is teaming up with Australian chef and restaurateur Matt Moran to bring his flagship fine diner to Sydney next month.

The residency will take over Aria restaurant on May 8, 9 and 10. This will be the first time that Restaurant Gordon Ramsay has popped up anywhere in the world outside of London.

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay will be the third high-profile restaurant residency to hit Sydney this year, following on from Mirazur Beyond Borders at The Gantry and L’Enclume, which is slated to take over the Bather’s Pavilion in July.

Gordon Ramsay and Matt Moran have known each over for over 25 years. In that time, they have seen several staff members move between their kitchens,  including Matt Abé, who started his career at Aria at just 17 years old and is now the chef patron at Ramsay’s restaurant.

Gordon Ramsay and Matt Moran have curated the special menu, while chef patron Matt Abé will bring the dishes to life. The 7-course menu will include signature Restaurant Gordon Ramsay dishes, with the shellfish raviolo and pecan praline dessert, rumoured to make an appearance.

Moran said: “What an absolute honour to have Restaurant Gordon Ramsay do their first residency outside London at Aria. Gordon is one of my closest mates, and Abé spent five years cooking with me in the Aria kitchen before being
moving to London where he has cemented his place as one of the world’s finest chefs. These three nights will be a real highlight in the 23 years of Aria; I can’t wait.”

Of the collaboration, Ramsay said: “Collaborating with my dear friend Matt Moran, and talented chef patron, Matt Abé at Aria, with its magnificent views across Sydney Harbour, and creating a menu that utilises Australia’s incredible
local produce whilst delivering the finesse of our 3-star Michelin menu, is a dream come true.”

Abe added: “I’m so excited to be heading back to the restaurant where my love for fine dining began. It means so much to be coming home as the first and only 3-star Australian chef, to showcase what I have learnt over the years of working for Gordon. It really is an honour to be stepping back into the kitchen at Aria, a place where I first met Gordon, and to show my earliest mentor and friend, Matt Moran, the chef I am today.”

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay will open at Aria on May 8, 9 and 10 for dinner only. Tickets are priced at $495 per person, which includes 7 courses, with an optional premium wine pairing for $295. Aria’s wine program will also be available. Tickets go on sale Thursday, April 13 at 9am at ariasydney.com.au.
