Pub grub now comes in a packet.
Arnott’s has added a new flavour to its Aussie Legends range. Presenting the chicken parma, a humble tribute to the pub parmigiana in snackable biscuit form.
The Aussie Legends range kicked off in 2018 with Vegemite and Cheese Shapes, a mitey delicious biscuit, followed by Meat Pie, Sausage Sizzle and more recently, Lamb and Rosemary. Fans of the counter meal classic will not be disappointed with Chicken Parma, which delivers a masterful mash-up of Chicken Crimpy and Pizza Shapes.
“I like these, but I felt they could have been more chicken-y and cheesy to be the ultimate 10/10,” said delicious. editorial director Kerrie McCallum.
“I didn’t have high hopes, but they were better than I thought they were going to be,” sub-editor Corinne Parkes added.
Restaurant editor Erina Starkey admitted, “I’ve had pub parmies that are worse than these.”
Editorial producer Millie Roberts agreed, however, she also said she didn’t like Chicken Crimpy, which puts her palate in serious question.
Faithful to the originals, food director Phoebe Wood was impressed by the amount of seasoning on each biscuit, but not completely convinced of the flavour. “Sorry, it just doesn’t compare with Pizza or Barbecue.”
Shapes Chicken Parma is currently available to purchase from Woolworths for $3.20 per packet.
