If you’ve embarked on Feb Fast, we salute you. We’re sure, though, that doesn’t mean you don’t still like to party. So we’ve scouted the best Feb Fast-friendly drinks in Sydney to keep you on track (and sane).
1. Nour, Crown Street
Their very name means ‘light’ and they’ve certainly given us one at the end of the tunnel with their two special mocktails just for February. We love the Misr, with watermelon, Egyptain iced tea, cucumber, mint and elderflower.
2. Kensington Street Social
Prefer a DIY approach? The clever people at KSS have introduced a juice bar and tea trolley where you can choose your favourite seasonal fruits and vegies, herbs and spices to mix with your drink.
3. Bloodwood
Can’t believe you’ve agreed to a month of zero negronis? No worries. The virgin negroni at this Newtown favourite is spot on – you might not even miss the booze. Might…
4. Bentley Restaurant and Bar
If you’re taking things really seriously, indulge in the non-alcoholic menu pairing and show ‘em you can’t be beat. Cucumber, celery and green tea with kingfish, green olive, pumpkin and shiso is just one of the hits.
5. Chiswick
A long lunch at Chiswick is not one to sit out due to sobriety. Luckily you can switch plain old soda water with their house made bubblies – we’re heading in for strawberry, white balsamic and orange.
6. The Paddington
Named after some of Paddo’s famed streets, the mocktails at The Paddington are fruity and fresh. Pink grapefruit, lime, orgeat and house made bitters is the William, and that’s our first pick.
7. PS40
This is one to reserve for when you’ve started dreaming about martinis, or craving wine with breakfast. All with natural, local and native ingredients, the Wattle Cola is a blend of wattle seed, cola nut, cassia bark, nutmeg, star anise, coriander seed, lavender, citrus zests and vanilla bean.
