Welcome to the neighbourhood.
The unstoppable force that is Neil Perry has confirmed that his new basement cocktail bar, Bobbie’s will officially open this month.
Bobbie’s is the latest in Perry’s Double Bay takeover, where he currently owns and operates Margaret, Next Door, a joint venture with Baker Bleu, and soon, the highly anticipated Song Bird.
Song Bird will return the veteran chef to his love of Asian flavours where Cantonese dishes with Japanese flair will be served.
Alongside – or rather, below – Song Bird will be Bobbie’s, a dedicated cocktail lounge that pays tribute to Australian DJ Bob Rogers OAM, who is credited with introducing top 40 hits to Australian radio in the late 1950s.
The Golden Age of rock and roll will be in full swing at Bobbie’s, with drinks by internationally renowned mixologists, Nathalie and Linden Pride. Bob Rogers just so happens to be Linden’s grandfather – we love to keep things in the family.
Live music, mid-century glamour, and cocktails on a silver platter will be the backdrop for Perry’s tight list of bar snacks while guests party like it’s the Bad Old Days.
Bobbie’s will open August 21 at 24 Bay St, Double Bay. For more details visit the Margaret Family website.
