Fans of perms and Duran Duran will find themselves right at home at Woolloomooloo’s latest resident. Chachi’s is a drinking den opening on the Kings Cross border, inspired in both design and menu by the excess of the 1980s. Formerly The Growler, the space has been transformed by its new face. The bar is now home to a rather impressive Grace Jones mural, and a collection of classic arcade games for when you’re bored by your drinking buddies. The food and drinks are fittingly also designed in ode to the decade – there’s casual eats aplenty from jaffles to burgers (The Molly Ringwald and Kevin with Bacon are just two), and cocktails that wouldn’t be out of place in the Tom Cruise 80s classic of the same name, pina coladas and daquiris included.
