The wholefood eatery is heading to the Mornington Peninsula.

George Calombaris’ wholefoods cafe Mastic is on the move. The eatery has announced that it will be departing its home of Kew, moving instead to the Mornington Peninsula.

Mastic shared its former inner-city Melbourne digs with fellow Calombaris eatery Hellenic Republic since 2014. As for it’s new home – the new Peninsula location will open its doors in 2018 with little known in regards to seating capacity and fit-out. What they will confirm is that the location will be far leafier than its former urban Melbourne digs.

For Calombaris, it’s a new setting befitting the wholefoods focus of the eatery with the Peninsula renowned for its quality produce. “We’re excited to take Mastic to the peninsula, a region that screams ‘good stuff’ in every way,” he commented in a press release. ” [The region offers] the best local produce, local suppliers within arm’s reach, and fresh air. It makes sense,” he said.
